Alice und Frank ziehen mit ihren drei Kindern in eine neue Wohnung auf dem Land. Während der Alltag seinen Lauf nimmt, merkt Alice, dass Frank etwas beschäftigt. Nur langsam öffnet er sich, und je mehr er von sich preisgibt, desto weniger will Alice von dieser Wahrheit wissen.

Für ihren Debütfilm arbeitete Claudia Lorenz mit einer hochkarätigen Crew und Besetzung. Neben ihrem preisgekrönten Co-Autor Rolando Colla sind mit Hauptdarstellerin Ursina Lardi (TRAUMLAND, AKTE GRÜNINGER, DER VERDINGBUB, DAS WEISSE BAND), Hauptdarsteller Dominique Jann (DIE STANDESBEAMTIN, LUFTBUSINESS) und Nebendarsteller Antonio Buil (MILKY WAY, OPERATION LIBERTAD, COEUR ANIMAL) nicht weniger als drei weitere Träger des Schweizer Filmpreises mit dabei.

Alice and Frank move to a new flat in the country with their children. As their day-to-day life takes its course, Alice notices that Frank is worried about something. He only opens up to her gradually and the more he reveals about himself, the less Alice wants to know about the truth.
This is the story of an intense, inescapable confrontation between two spouses, as hidden secrets progressively come to light. In simple, but emotionally dense scenes, the film follows the everyday life of a family, which – initially almost unnoticed – gradually comes apart at the seams as Alice and Frank slide into a deep crisis after 18 years of marriage. Over the period of a year, the film shows the characters with their wishes and limitations. Their helplessness when faced with a truth that throws their previous life into turmoil: Frank feels more and more attracted to a man.
For her debut feature, Claudia Lorenz has worked with a highly distinguished crew and cast. In addition to award-winning co-author Rolando Colla, with female lead Ursina Lardi (TRAUMLAND, AKTE GRÜNINGER, DER VERDINGBUB, DAS WEISSE BAND), male lead Dominique Jann (DIE STANDESBEAMTIN, LUFTBUSINESS) and supporting male Antonio Buil (MILKY WAY, OPERATION LIBERTAD, COEUR ANIMAL) no less than three winners of the Swiss Film Prize are involved.

Alice et Frank emménagent avec leurs trois enfants dans un nouvel appartement dans la verdure. Alors que le quotidien reprend son cours, Alice sent que quelque chose chiffonne Frank. Il s’ouvre lentement, mais plus il se livre, moins Alice ne veut connaître cette vérité.
C’est l’histoire d’une confrontation violente et inévitable entre deux conjoints, quand peu à peu des choses cachées apparaissent. Au travers de scènes simples mais chargées d’émotions, le film évoque la lente déliquescence du quotidien familial d’Alice et de Frank : après 18 ans de mariage, leur vie leur échappe d’abord imperceptiblement, puis ils s’enfoncent dans une profonde crise. Dans l’espace d’une année, le film suit ces personnages dans leurs souhaits et dans leurs limites, dans leur impuissance face à une vérité qui fait exploser leur vie menée jusque-là : Frank se sent attiré par un homme.
Pour son premier long métrage, Claudia Lorenz a collaboré avec une équipe de tournage et des acteurs de grande qualité.
